Wah Fung is the best value meal I think I have ever had! I went around 6:15 PM and came at a lucky time since the line was less than 10 people (when I left the line grew significantly). There's only two people working inside, one serving the food and the other as a cashier, so it takes a minute but it was worth the wait!

I forgot to take photos since I ate it immediately outside in the cold. I got one small roasted pork over rice. The pork is juicy and flavorful and fatty. It was an amazing amount of meat for the price and split it between two and felt it was a solid amount of food for two. Rice and cabbage were a little softer/cooked than preferred but for the price and considering the pork is the star of the show it was not that big of a deal.

Wah Fung is worth every penny! I overheard some locals complaining about how social media made the place too busy and hard to get but I think it's such a good deal and great food that it can't be gate kept!

As seen on many youtubers and vlogs, but this place always have my heart since the earlier years before youtubers and vloggers were a thing back in the days. Lines always out the door, as part of cheap eats in Chinatown, you can't go wrong here. Local eats here, tourist eats here, just about everyone. If you can't eat pork, they have chicken. For a small plate it's $5.50. CASH ONLY!  Even with the small plate you can still share but I opted out for a large because why the heck not! For $2.50 more, you get more! GIRL MATH! JK JK I was just really hungry being in that line so might as well get a large. The cashier/ butcher was super sweet and nice, give us a couple of piece of Crispy pork aka HEO QUAY!! Comes with rice and cabbage, you gotta eat your veggies but honestly, I would get another plate, fly it with me back home and eat with pickled daikon with sliced carrots from the com tam plate, if you're vietnamese you know what I'm talking about it. To cut the fattiness of it, not that it's bad, I just like to balance my meal with something pickled. Like thit kho.
Anywhom, i'm rambling again about food, just a foodie at heart. Would definately recommend this place if you don't mind the line. It's WORTH IT!! Trust me.

NYC might be expensive but if you know where to look, you can get really great food and super cheap, that doesn't give you the runs. Not in this town where public restrooms is hard to find.

5 stars!!

Small shop but PACKED with flavors and amazing services. Need to come here earlier to get a half heo quay or vit quay and see about their pecking duck.

I mean it's amazing. Not sure what else to say. The food per price. The quality. It's delicious. My husband is Asian and knows quality food. We are planning our next NYC trip just to get Wah Fung...yes it's that good. But also don't go...so it doesn't get any busier and we can have it all for ourselves. Thanks.

I'm usually not for the whole self proclaimed greatness sorta thing, but number 1 is veryyyyy arguable for Wah Fung. They're great with portion size, flavor, service, you name it.

I got the small roasted chicken on rice with cabbage for $5.50. The small order can definitely stretch to feed two people with the amount of meat they drop on there, so keep that in mind with the large.

The chicken slips off the bone and packs a strong soy sauce/barbecue flavor with a pinch of sweetness. It also comes with a bit of skin to provide that extra chew and it helps to texture the rice and cabbage. Hearty and satisfying to say the least.

The cabbage comes nicely behind the chicken to provide some good nuance to the flavors. Classic combo, so of course not much needs to be said. The cabbage itself is nice and steamy, especially on top of the rice. The rice did its job with soaking in all the juices from the chicken and cabbage as well as contributing to the texture with its fluffiness and firm chew. No complaints.

If there's a line here, consider sticking around. This spot is the definition of bang for your buck.

some of the best roast pork I've had in a long time! This place is no frills and reasonably priced for what you get. Just make sure you bring cash.

A must try if you are visiting New York! I recommend getting half pork and half duck to fully experience the flavors this place has to offer. (and its very cheap too)

It's probably my favorite place in Chinatown, NYC. Three things I take very seriously when it comes to good are price, flavor, and portion. This place hits every single mark for me. It's cheap, delicious, and very generous with the portion. I've tried roast pork, chicken, and duck, and I must say all of it was bomb! If you're gonna come here, though, I think you should order the chicken or the pork. A small roast pork or chicken over rice will cost your $5.50 cash.

The service is pretty quick. ONCE you get in but it takes a while to even make it to the door. There is almost always a line, and it's not abnormal for the lane to go around the corner. Trust me when I say it's worth it. Come check this place out!

It's a very simple dish, but one that is comforting and sort of an objective good. Fluffy rice, cabbage, and roast pork, spooned with some pork drippings. The pork itself has a lovely sweet-salty flavor, with hints of red fermented bean curd. The meat itself could have been slightly more tender, but for the portion and price, you won't hear me complain.

Expect a long line.
